The African American Repertory Theater Performs A Stage Adaption Of ‘Things Fall Apart’

Chinua Achebe’s iconic first novel, Things Fall Apart, was published in 1958 and went on to become one of the earliest African novels to receive worldwide critical acclaim. Earlier this week, Achebe (who died in Boston on March 21) was honoured with a memorial at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, Washington, D.C.

As a part of the event, an excerpt from celebrated UK-based Nigerian novelist and playwright Biyi Bandele’s 1997 stage adaption of Things Fall Apart was performed by the African American Repertory Theater of Virginia under the direction of University of Redmond in Virginia professor and artistic director, Chuck Mike (a Nigerian).
